The Swan Country House

 

Thank you for choosing to book with The Swan Country House. We’re really looking forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

Prices:

Our price includes your accommodation on a self-catering basis.  Extras, including additional logs, items required in respect of the concierge service, for example ordering of birthday cakes, are charged as applicable. We accept the following forms of payment: cash or debit/credit card or payment online via bank transfer (wee do not accept American Express).

Cancellation and Insurance:

Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract.  If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. If outside the cancellation period of thirty days, we will do everything we can to re-let the accommodation because if we are successful we will make no further charge and we will refund all monies paid.  If we are not able to re-let, the 25% deposit remains payable.  Full return if COVID 19 related or deferment to a later date. Failing to take up your booking without cancelling renders you liable for the total amount of your stay.

If you are concerned about a cancellation, you may wish to take out insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good insurance provider. For reservations over July, August, Christmas, New Year, Easter, Bank Holidays and the week of the Royal Welsh Show, the cancellation period is sixty days.

Due to the temperamental nature of this country’s climate, we cannot accept ‘poor weather’ as a reason for cancellation, except, of course, if conditions prohibit travel.

In the event that you need to change your plans, please let us know by telephone as soon as possible, so that we can make the property available. Notification by email may not be retrieved immediately or may go astray, and so is not accepted.

Should you wish to change or alter your booking in any way, we reserve the right to cancel the booking completely or offer an alternative date at our discretion. For example, if you wish to reduce a 7-night booking to a three night stay over a weekend, we may offer to charge 50% of the remaining days or cancel the whole booking. This is to enable us to re-let the property.

Non-availability:

We would only ever cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would always attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however, if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund ALL monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Arrival:

Your accommodation will be available from 16.00 (4pm) on the day of your arrival.  Please advise if you expect to arrive after 21.00 (9pm).

Departure:

Our checkout time is 10.00am on the day of your departure, and the balance of your account, if applicable, becomes due for payment on departure unless otherwise agreed.

Dogs:

Well behaved pets are permitted by prior arrangement only, which means, one well-behaved dog is usually permitted at £10 per night but capped at £40 and must be checked with us prior to booking. Dogs are not allowed upstairs in the property.

 

Smoking:

Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.

Damages and Breakages:

Please take care of our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damage which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we reserve the right to deduct funds or invoice you for repairs or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, or we have not been advised.

NB: The Swan is also our home and any items either on display or being used in the running of our business, belong to us. Anything which is removed without prior agreement will be charged.

Liability:

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Data:

Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer or in written form. With your permission, we will add you to our mailing list for our various marketing literature which is sent out via email, detailing things that are happening and any special offers. Please advise if you would rather be removed from this list.

Children:

Due to a large pond located in the car park of the property, we do not accept toddlers (age 1-3).  All other children must be supervised at all times.
